ENG vs PAK Match Toss Prediction

Although the last T20I at Sophia Gardens was won by the team batting first, only three of the nine T20Is here have been won in that fashion. We predict both captains will walk out for the toss wanting to field first.

ENG vs PAK Pitch Report

The ball will come onto the bat at a good pace at this ground which top order batters always enjoy. There are also short straight boundaries so a par score of at least 210 will be on the table ahead of the first innings on Tuesday.

England Team News & Playing 11

ENG Team News

Liam Livingstone was selected ahead of Sam Curran for the first T20I of the series but we expect the left-handed all-rounder to come into the side for this match. Alongside Curran, we also anticipate that Mark Wood will get an opportunity.

ENG Key Players

  • Phil Salt- the opener was his usual aggressive self in his nine-ball innings on Saturday. We expect him to target the short straight boundary in Cardiff.
  • Jos Buttler- the skipper impressed with eight fours and three sixes at Edgbaston in his innings which took him beyond 3000 T20I runs.
  • Adil Rashid- the vastly experienced leg-spinner dismissed Shadab Khan in the second T20I and he will be keen to get some more overs under his belt in this game.
  • Jofra Archer- although England will be keen to not over-bowl the pacer ahead of the T20 World Cup, they will also want to give him the opportunity to fine-tune his skills at this match at Sophia Gardens.

Pakistan Team News & Playing 11

PAK Team News

With the series all about getting as many of their T20 World Cup squad as game-ready as possible for the tournament in the USA and the Caribbean, we are expecting at least two changes for Pakistan. Shadab Khan and Saim Ayub are predicted to drop out with Usman Khan and Abrar Ahmed coming in.

PAK Key Players

  • Babar Azam- only Fakhar Zaman hit more runs for Pakistan in Saturday’s T20I and the skipper looked in strong form hitting four boundaries in his innings.
  • Mohammad Rizwan- the 34 year old left-hander was the only Pakistan batter to really dominate England’s bowlers in Birmingham. He will be looking to do the same in this game.
  • Shaheen Shah Afridi- the left-arm pace bowler is a very consistent and high level operator across all formats. He dismissed Jonny Bairstoow, Moeen Ali and Chris Jordan in the second T20I.
  • Imad Wasim- the experienced all-rounder produced an excellent display at Edgbaston and he will be targeting similar figures to his 2/19 from four overs in this match.

England vs Pakistan Head to Head

England are now unbeaten across the last five head to heads with Pakistan in this format. The hosts also lead the overall head to head by a significant 20-9 margin.
